How does your Garden Grow?

Guess we’ve told you many times that we hate gardening.  We’ve just never seen the attraction of spending hours and hours weeding, planting and pruning.  Most keen gardeners seem to spend all their waking hours doing these chores, but it is not for us.  No indeed, we would rather spend time away in the caravan.

But in saying that, we are rather proud of our raised vegetable garden in the back yard.  The rhubarb plants are thriving, especially after getting their roots into that tasty lot of chicken pooh which Robin recently dug in.  Our “mixed combo” of plants is coming along well, we have two each of cabbage, broccoli and cauliflower plants.  Although we are not sure which is which until they grow bigger.  Our baby silver beet plants are all in a row, still quite tiny, but now the weather is warming up, they should shoot away.  We will probably end up with more silver beet that we can deal with.  Just last night Robin put some lettuce plants in and a single tomato plant.  Oh my  – we are starting to sound like real gardeners, or maybe like proud parents.  Goodness knows what we will be like when we start to harvest the veggies!
