We’ve been certified again

It’s hard to believe that we have owned our Leisureline caravan almost 4 years. Which means that the Electrical Warrant is coming up for renewal. Finding an electrical engineer to do the job for a reasonable price these days is difficult. So it was very fortuitous that the New Zealand Motor Home Association were offering to do Electrical Warrants at their rally at Kapiti over the weekend. As we were unable to attend the weekend rally due to a birthday celebration invitation, Robin was able to take the caravan up just for the day. The inspection went without a hitch, and our new four yearly sticker duly pasted onto the window. Robin commented that he would have been very upset if the caravan hadn’t passed!

While driving over the curb at the rally site, Robin had a small whoopsy. The plastic cable ties holding the waste hose got mangled and torn off. This left the waste hose dragging on the ground. A quick trip to the local “The Warehouse” for some new cable ties to make a temporary repair to get him home. Once home, a permanent repair was required, so the caravan was parked up on our front grass berm so Robin had room to move. After another trip to buy some hose clamps of the correct size, it was a matter of lying in an uncomfortable position under the caravan to fit everything back into place.

The outside of the caravan was given a good wash down to remove the road film and grime, so it is all sparkling clean and ready for our next trip away in several weeks.
