There was a whole lot of fun happening next door when a truck arrived and parked up the driveway. There were visitors galore to help two year old Riley celebrate her birthday and even I was excited when then truck from Zippity Zoo Mobile Farm Petting Zoo arrived. Surely the new neighbours wouldn’t mind too much if I took my trusty little camera outside for a few photos?
We watched as Beverly handed crates of chickens, and goodness knows what other types of small furry animals to the helpers. Perhaps there is a rabbit or two in the boxes as well? Collapsible fences were carried around to keep the small animals safely enclosed.
Next came Bart the sheep – and what a big boy he was! Bart walked gingerly down the tail gate and went to join his other feathered and furry friends on the neighbours large deck.
Last out was the goat, we didn’t catch his name. Beverly deftly picked him up and carried him around the side of the truck when he needed a bit of a helping hand getting around the small area.
We could hear the squeals of delight from all the excited young guests as they patted, stroked and talked to the animals from the Petting Zoo. Sounds like they were all having a great time. (I was having fun too, and I wasn’t even invited!) The last item to get taken around to the deck was the “poo bucket”, a very necessary thing to have on hand with all those animals, I should think.
What a great idea for a child’s party, especially for those who live in the suburbs and never get to see farm animals. From the excited noises we could hear from next door, the party was a huge success.
