Our 600th Rally at Takapau came to an end on Sunday morning. That large cake took some eating, I must say, and with half of the chocolate cake left, we divided it up into twelve slabs, wrapped it in glad wrap, and handed each couple their own piece of cake to eat or take home for later. There was even a spare portion for Scotty, the caretaker, we knew he had a bit of a sweet tooth.
Robin’s quiz to identify the warning lights which may appear sometimes on the car dashboard was marked – and the judge’s decision was final! We had presumed that our visitor John, who is a car mechanic would scoop the pool, but not so. Geoff and Eileen were the winners with 46 correct answers, congratulations.
How many of these would you know?
Sunday was a wet morning as we headed home, waving to the Dannevirke Viking as we passed by.
Driving up the Pahiatua Track we stopped at the top in the mist. Another one of those wind turbines was being erected. Looks like the job is half done, although no workers were out on a wet Sunday morning.
Seen in the mist
Luckily the conditions had changed once we had made it over the Ruahine Ranges. Our home town was bathed in sunshine, making unpacking the caravan so much more pleasant than doing it in the rain. Our 600th Rally was a great success, even if we do say so ourselves.
