AGM Rally at Levin Motor Camp

DSCF6736 Entry to Levin Caravan Park
The camp sites are set around edge of the large grassed area in the middle of the camp, containing a play area, and a dove cote.  This is an excellent set up for families, as it allows plenty of room for children to run around, and it is very easy to see exactly where the little darlings are.  Not that this point mattered at all to our weekend caravan rally, as there was not a single darling to be found hiding away in any of our vans – ours had all grown up and left home years ago.  This is a very pleasant camp, always kept spotlessly clean and tidy, and new facillity blocks being built a few years ago.

The AGM went off without too many hiccoughs, with the previous committee all being returned as there were no further nominations received.  As our club is getting smaller, all members were asked to think about how we could attract more members to keep the club viable in the future.  After the AGM, we took Kathryn down to a caravan yard.  She was keen to check out a couple of campervans and would appreciate some helpful advice, she said.  Wonder if this one would be suitable?

It was certainly very colourful, but no, this wasn’t quite what she was looking for.  We checked out several campervans, and the salesman pointed out all the various features.  All this information will give Kathryn plenty to think about.  Then we took a walk down the main street to buy something tasty for lunch, and a Lotto ticket – if it’s the winning ticket we can all go out and buy a new rig!  We came across this interesting sculpture.  The area is famed for market gardening and the plaque states: “ This statue of a market gardener has been erected to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of the early settles of the Horowhenua District.  Market gardening has played an important part in the development of the district, and is a very significant part of the local economy.”

Back to camp we went to enjoy our hot pies for lunch.  We were looking forward to going out to dinner to the local Cossie Club in  the evening.
